Daily Deviation! - Well you often hear people say this, and I believe I have on occasion, but this is a real surprise to get Safe Trade Routes featured a whopping 4 years after if was submitted. A big thankyou to Voyager212 and ifreex, and to all he enjoy this piece of work.

- Hostilities endure and our current situation harbours little relief, for the once safe trade routes that occupied this chasm have vanished, smothered and oppressed. Perhaps one day my retreat will return. Perhaps one day the comforting light that gushed and bubbled in the sky will remain unadulterated and untouched. But these are the words of fools - my place remains up among the trade routes, now a malevolent web of conflict and strife. And of fear. -

This is my print that has been in the works for a long time now. If Orphic was inspired by Gary Tonge, this is, indeed, inspired by Greg Martin (notably Celestia III and In Darkness Light.) Having finished this I will hopefully have some more time to finish up other tasks

Any stocks from the sxc. and name comes from the track "Safe Trade Routes" by Jon Hallur found on the EVE online soundtrack.

Enjoy the Safe Trade Routes.

EDIT - Toned down frame, and placed larger crop of image.

Reminds me of going into the color displays at the end of "2001".

Unfortunately 2001 is one of those sci-fi classics I have yet to watch. It's up there with The Thing and Brazil!

Yeah, I always put 2001 in my top sf favorites along with H. G. Wells' Things to Come, Blade Runner, etc.

2001 has an ancient alien transportation system that automatically takes a human across the universe through some sort of portal. Douglas Trumbull (the famous special effects wiz) made a cool light effect for the moment.

Phenomenal image! I would love to know how you achieved blending those colors and creating that light source. I am trying to get into making space images myself!
