These words echoed throughout the ranks of a now tired machine; the gears of the ferocious beast were grinding slowly to a halt. A wolf stood, alone, just up from the charismatic leader, watching the broken men that were now his troop. They stood among the fields of crystal, crystal blinding, bound by the light and suffocated by a stifling wind, awaiting whatever judgement the mountains would now grant them.

"Such a chill air...This is nothing, nothing more than a trick, a plateaux of mirrors that can be broken..." The man's voice was now just a whisper, lost unto the draft. His eyes gleamed, not with courage, nor or fear, or emotion, but with the sun that bore down on his face; to any other eyes he would seem an effigy, a diamond among the doomed men he led. -

My first entry for the Terraspace contest; a relatively simple piece, but undoubtadely a milestone for me being the first time I have rendered my own terrain. One paticular detail to note is the shadows projected onto the terrain from the clouds (a neat little trick I used in photoshop that turned out nicely.)
